Tree Planting at Sandy River Delta

November 2, 2019 @ 8:45 am - 1:00 pm

This is a large, popular event with Friends of Trees and Sandy River Watershed Council.  Plan for the group to plant 1,200 climate adaptive native trees and shrubs.

Meet at 8:45 a.m. on November 2. Take exit 18 off I-84 and turn right to be directed to the planting parking area.

WEAR TREE-PLANTING CLOTHES, STURDY BOOTS AND BRING YOUR OWN SHOVEL!
WHY PLANT TREES?
  1. Trees sequester the carbon which we pour into the atmosphere when we drive cars and heat our homes using fossil fuels.
  2. The number of trees on our planet has dropped by 46% and we need to plant more trees for keeping our oceans & rivers cool, & the air clean.
  3. The United Nations calls for each human being to plant 140 trees in their lifetime.
