Invest in Your City with Community Solar

April 13, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The City of Hood River’s Public Works’ Building is about to save itself $97,000 over 25 years through a first of its kind community financed solar installation: Learn how you can share in the benefits!

About the Project:

The City’s Public Works’ Department solar project will be installed by local installer Common Energy in partnership with the Oregon Clean Power Cooperative (OCPC). The system, is projected to save the city more than $11,000 in electric costs in the first ten years, and nearly $97,000 over 25 years. Through the cooperative model OCPC allows members of the community to finance the solar project and receive a return.

The City of Hood River, in conjunction with OCPC, is currently seeking investors to fund the 30 kiloWatt solar array, that will allow the City’s Public Works’ Building to get more than half of its electricity from the sun.

About the Event:

Dan Orzech, General Manager of OCPC will walk interested community members through the OCPC model, membership and investment process, and answer any questions.
