Declare a Climate Emergency in Hood River and The Dalles!

September 23, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Over 1000 jurisdictions worldwide, representing over 200 million people, have declared climate emergencies, including Los Angeles, New York City, London, San Francisco, the UK, and many others. Such declarations do not inherently set goals or budgets, but have led to significantly increased climate awareness and accelerated actions.

Young people and adults will ask The Dalles City Council at 5:30pm and Hood River City Council at 6 pm to consider a resolution endorsing the declaration of a climate emergency and requesting regional Gorge-wide collaboration on an immediate just transition to restore a safe climate. Concerned citizens are encouraged to attend!

Hood River City Council meets at 211 2nd St, Hood River, OR 97031

The Dalles City Council meets at 313 Court St, The Dalles, OR 97058

Here is the public testimony presented by Deborah Ferrer, Emily Freilich, and Eric Strid at The Dalles City Council meeting.
