CGCAN monthly meeting: The climate emergency

May 20, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

At least three tipping points, or combinations of these, could force an acceleration of climate actions in various potential scenarios over the foreseeable future:

1. Worsening climate disasters drive political shifts
2. Political shifts catalyzing actions. Climate change now ranks as a top issue nationally
3. Technology cost reductions making clean options the cheapest
Even the October 2018 Special Report by the IPCC that strongly recommends dramatic emission reductions is understating the risks and urgency.
This CGCAN meeting is a discussion around how to confront the climate crisis–personally, locally, at a state or national level. How will we be affected and what can we do?
Here’s a 350.org presentation about the Green New Deal (start 6:20).
We won’t be having the potluck dinner at 6. Just come with your thinking cap, at 6:30.
