Bike IN the NW Cherry Festival Parade!

On Saturday, April 23, 2022 walk, roll or ride your electric or pedal-powered bike, lawn mower, scooter, tractor, wheelchair, one wheel, etc. in the largest parade in the Gorge. In support of Earth Month. All are welcome, especially kids.

Costumes and bike decorations are encouraged, especially in shades of green. Animal costumes, as shown in the photos, earn extra credit!

I Spy a Clean Energy Future where foreign wars don’t hike the cost of driving, where Columbia River hydropower, wind energy and solar run our cars, homes and businesses. Where buses, bikes, and walking are safe alternatives to cars. Where carbon pollution isn’t fueling more wildfires and 118 degree days. Welcome to a Clean Energy Future – help us make it happen!

Meet at the Parade Line-Up on 8th and Cherry Heights Road at 9 AM and look down the line for us. Our float will be pulled by a Tesla! The parade starts at 10 AM and the route is 2.3 miles in length. Bring water, snacks and sun protection if hot. The parade ends at The Dalles Chamber of Commerce. There will be an open house after the parade at 203 Washington Street, The Dalles.

This event is organized by Protect Oregon’s Progress (POP), Columbia Gorge Climate Action Network (CGCAN) and Friends of the Columbia Gorge as a part of Earth Month (April).
