Third Monday CGCAN Meeting

July 16, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The “Folly of Frack” Performance & Comment Writing
Here is the agenda for our Monday meeting on 7/16/18:

Here is what 350.pdx has to say about fracking, their performance and comment writing workshop:

“We have an opportunity to stop a 230-mile pipeline through Southern Oregon and a terminal in Coos Bay, which would transport and export fracked gas through our state. The Canadian company, Pembina, won’t be able to build the Jordan Cove Terminal and Pacific Connector Pipeline unless they get all the required federal and state permits. We have a 60-day window to submit public comments to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the US Army Corps of Engineers on water quality issues related to this climate-busting project.

To provide background on the projects, members of Stop Fracked Gas/PDX open with a short play, “The Folly of Frack”. This informative romp will update audiences on fracking and the project proposals. The play will be followed by a comment-writing workshop, during which we’ll provide talking points and practical tips. Participants will have an opportunity to write their comments to DEQ and the Army Corps. This is how we can help stop fracked gas in Oregon and elsewhere.”

Join us at Riverside Church, 317 State Street, HR with a potluck dinner starting at 6 PM in the Pioneer Room and meeting from 6:30 to 8 PM.
