Cap-and-invest climate bill public hearing

The public will get the chance to weigh in on and ask questions about Oregon’s proposed climate policy at a series of public hearings around the state. The Joint Committee on Carbon Reduction, responding to criticism from business groups about a lack of transparency regarding the complex policy, announced dates and locations where it will take public feedback, including a hearing where the committee will accept live, remote testimony from around the state. The committee will take public testimony at a hearing at 5 p.m. Monday in Hearing Room F at the State Capitol, 900 Court St. N.E., Salem. The times and locations of other public hearings are:
Feb. 22:
Noon-3 p.m., Springfield City Hall, 225 Fifth St., Springfield
Feb. 23:
9 a.m.-noon, Medford City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St., Medford
Feb. 25:
Time TBD, remote testimony, Oregon State Capitol
March 1:
Noon-3 p.m., The Dalles Civic Auditorium, 323 E. Fourth St., The Dalles
March 2:
9 a.m.-noon, Cascade Hall, Room 246-248, Central Oregon Community College, 2600 N.W. College Way, Bend.
